Vodacom Bursary Application 2022

Pursuing a Career in the STEM sector? Vodacom might just help you get there!

Every year, the Vodacom Foundation sets aside adequate funding in the form of a valuable bursary programme, to offer deserving students the chance to further their studies in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The bursaries are aimed at first, second, and third-year students within South Africa and these students are selected based on the financial constraints hampering their studies as well as merit.

Vodacom has announced that the 2023 bursary programme will cover the following fields of study:

  • Information Technology
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Data analytics / Sciences

Each bursary covers registration and full-time tuition costs as well as accommodation (paid in full when accommodation is required at the university itself), textbook costs, and all means. Furthermore, each student selected to receive a bursary will be provided with a laptop and cellphone. They will be required to attend an orientation workshop and will get real-time workplace exposure through Vodacom’s Holiday Work programme. The students will also have full access to Vodacom’s Wellness programme services.

To qualify for a bursary, a student must:

  • Be a South Africa citizen by birth
  • Enrol for full-time studies in an SA tertiary institution
  • Pass Grade 12 with exemption (achieve a minimum of 70% for all subjects).
  • Achieve a 65% average if already studying at a tertiary institution.

Students may apply for a Vodacom bursary if they are studying at a local university already, provided they meet all the above requirements.

Applications close on 31 August 2022.
